Job Description
Banner Health is a prominent non-profit health care organization known for its dedication to innovation and patient-centered care. Recognized by Fortune as one of America's Most Innovative Companies for two consecutive years and named among the Most Trustworthy Companies in America by Newsweek, Banner Health prioritizes advanced healthcare solutions and exceptional patient services. Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, part of this esteemed network, opened in 1988 and continues to grow to meet the expanding health demands of the northwest metropolitan Phoenix area. This acute care hospital currently operates 404 licensed beds and is the eighth largest hospital in the Valley, with future potential expansion to nearly 500 beds. It also serves as a base for the Banner Air helicopter, demonstrating its comprehensive emergency and critical care capabilities.
Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center's Inpatient Rehabilitation Department plays a vital role in patient recovery by providing therapeutic services designed to enhance functional outcomes, patient experience, and hospital resource utilization. The team is committed to delivering preventative and rehabilitative care that significantly improves patient quality of life. As an Occupational Therapist on this team, you will have a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact during critical recovery periods through personalized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
This part-time position offers a 20-hour workweek with two 10-hour shifts on Sundays and Mondays. It is a benefited role with eligibility for a weekend shift differential of $3 per hour and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Employees at Banner Health enjoy comprehensive Total Rewards packages that provide health and financial security options, promoting both professional excellence and personal well-being.
In this role, you'll be responsible for evaluating patients' functional abilities and limitations, establishing care plans, and providing skilled occupational therapy treatments tailored to each patient's physical, social, cultural, and educational needs. You will collaborate closely with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the most effective and compassionate care. Documentation and communication are key components of this position, requiring comprehensive record-keeping and timely, clear communication regarding patient progress and care adjustments.
Additionally, you will play a leadership role in delegating tasks to occupational therapy assistants, therapy technicians, and students while ensuring compliance with departmental and regulatory standards. This role requires adaptability to varying caseloads and schedules, along with active participation in departmental and facility quality improvement initiatives. Joining Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center means contributing to an institution recognized by U.S. News and World Report for excellence in a broad range of services, including acute medical and surgical care, intensive care, emergency services, and specialized treatment areas such as neurology, orthopedics, oncology, and more.
At Banner Health, we believe your skills and dedication belong in an environment that fosters growth, supports innovation, and prioritizes patient outcomes. We encourage qualified occupational therapists seeking to make a significant difference in healthcare to apply and join our respected therapy team.
