Job Description

T&T Supermarket is a leading retailer specializing in Asian groceries, operating stores, food processing facilities, production centers, warehouses, and distribution networks primarily across Canada and the United States. The company is deeply committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service, maintaining a strong reputation in the retail and grocery industry. With a steadfast focus on safety and operational excellence, T&T Supermarket prides itself on fostering a safe working environment across all its locations to safeguard both employees and customers. The organization continually aligns with regulatory standards and aims to build a safety culture that permeates every level of operation, reflecting its core values of respect, integrity, and community engagement.

This position focuses on the critical role of Health and Safety Program Manager within T&T Supermarket. The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of health and safety programs across multiple store locations, food manufacturing, and warehouse operations. The role emphasizes full compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards. This is a full-time role with a five-day workweek from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, though some variation may occur depending on departmental needs.

As the Safety Program Manager, you will oversee key safety initiatives such as Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP), Accident Prevention Program (APP), Hazard Communication, Emergency Action Plans, Lockout/Tagout procedures, Bloodborne Pathogens control, Heat Illness Prevention, and Workplace Violence Prevention. Your responsibilities extend to conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments across retail stores, back-of-house operations, and office environments, identifying hazards, and partnering with leadership teams to implement effective corrective actions. You will have a leading role in incident management including investigations of workplace injuries and near misses, root cause analysis, maintenance of OSHA logs, and reporting.

The role requires a proactive approach to emergency preparedness by developing response plans, coordinating drills, and ensuring employees are equipped to handle emergencies efficiently. You will design and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees and management while advocating a strong safety culture at store levels. Compliance assurance is paramount in this position, acting as the main liaison during OSHA and state inspections and managing all related documentation and audits.

Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Store Operations, Human Resources, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, and Asset Protection teams to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and support new equipment or process rollouts safely. This position also involves partnership in workers’ compensation case management and return-to-work strategies, using data insights to improve injury prevention initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field, coupled with 5+ years of managerial experience in occupational health and safety within retail, food manufacturing, grocery, hospitality, or distribution sectors. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, incident investigation, hazard assessment, and training program development is essential. Candidates must have a valid Class C driver’s license and be willing to travel across locations in California and Washington, including occasional overnight trips.

T&T Supermarket offers competitive wages, discretionary bonuses, paid holidays, comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits, 401(k) plans with employer matching, life and AD&D insurance, employee assistance programs, and more. Join a company that values safety above all and supports your professional growth with paid training and leadership opportunities. If you’re ready to lead health and safety programs that impact multiple sites and create a safer workplace environment, this role invites you to make a significant contribution to T&T Supermarket’s operational excellence and employee well-being.
