As a member of BD’s manufacturing team based in El Paso, Texas, the role of a Production Operator is integral in supporting the company’s operational success and maintaining the high standards of quality and safety for which BD is known. The Production Operator will have a basic understanding of production processes and a working knowledge of the manufacturing equipment used within their assigned area. This role requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures to ensure the safety and efficiency of production operations. The operator will be responsible for transporting materials of varying weights according to established safety guidelines, using appropriate material handling equipment. They will also demonstrate proactive safety awareness, monitoring their own behavior as well as that of their peers, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and properly handling chemicals by labeling and storing them correctly.
Additionally, the operator will be responsible for completing an operator training program according to BD’s established guidelines and will be expected to participate in additional projects or assignments as requested by management. A critical part of the role also involves environmental responsibility, where operators must identify and report environmental issues and complete all necessary regulatory training, including compliance with standards such as GMP, ISO 14001, and OSHA. The company emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement, encouraging operators to look for ways to simplify and improve products, services, systems, and processes. Job Requirements
- high school diploma/ged preferred
- 4 months of work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- able to read, write, and understand basic english preferred
- operating skills of manufacturing equipment, tools, and hand/pallet jack is preferred
- problem solving skills is highly preferred

Job Duties
- possess a basic understanding of production processes within area of assignment and a working knowledge of manufacturing equipment
- follow gmp,s and standard operating procedures
- transport materials of varying weight in accordance with established safety guidelines using material handling equipment and additional assistance as required
- demonstrate adherence to safety procedures by monitoring personal and peer behaviors, work environment and housekeeping
- available for overtime as needed
- perform all duties with attention to quality, safety, and environmental matters such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, identifying, reporting, and appropriately responding to hazards in the work area (spills/accidents/near misses), always maintaining proper housekeeping, and properly labeling and storing chemicals
- assume responsibility for the environmental effects of work performed and for the identification and recording of environmental problems as they arise
- complete all regulatory training as assigned (gpm,s, iso14001, osha, etc.)
- complete operator training program according to established guidelines
- be available for other projects or assignments as requested by management
- look for ways to simplify or improve products, services, systems, and processes to achieve
