Job Description
Our client is a reputable food service provider specializing in delivering high-quality dietary and kitchen support services within healthcare or residential care settings. Known for its commitment to maintaining rigorous sanitation standards and promoting a safe, clean environment for both staff and residents, the company ensures that every meal service is supported by a well-organized and hygienic kitchen operation. The kitchen environment is vital to producing nutritious meals, and cleanliness plays an integral role in food safety and overall satisfaction.
This Food Service Sanitation Worker role is crucial within the dietary department, focusing on maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen utensils, dishes, and kitchen areas. The role requires a conscientious and motivated individual who can load and unload dishwashers, sanitize kitchen equipment, and ensure all service carts are clean and properly maintained. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring sanitizer levels and keeping meticulous records, ensuring compliance with sanitation protocols to guarantee the highest level of cleanliness.
Additionally, this role involves delivering and picking up food carts, managing waste by emptying trash cans regularly, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dumpster area. The individual will also be tasked with sweeping and mopping kitchen floors after meals while following safety practices, including placing "wet floor" signs to prevent accidents. Special cleaning projects involve sanitizing various kitchen zones including walls in chemical closets and dry storage areas and cleaning the ice machine. They also have the responsibility of organizing pots and pans according to management's instruction.
Working in collaboration with the Food Service Manager and as part of the wider dietary team, the worker must adapt flexibly to adjust duties and cover other assignments when necessary. Delivering food and beverages to residents and staff members further highlights this role's interactive aspect, requiring professionalism and prompt service. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to kitchen hygiene standards within a well-established food service environment.
Employment type typically aligns with full-time or part-time schedules, and salary ranges are commensurate with experience and local standards in food service sanitation roles. This role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, physically capable of manual tasks, and who thrive in a team-based environment dedicated to cleanliness and service excellence.
