Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a distinguished full-service, non-profit Catholic hospital sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and a valued member of Trinity Health. This institution is committed to providing compassionate and holistic person-centered care, serving as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within its community. As the only Catholic hospital in Broward and Palm Beach counties, Holy Cross Hospital holds a unique position in the region's healthcare landscape, offering services that reflect deep spiritual values alongside medical excellence. Affiliated with Trinity Health, one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic healthcare delivery systems in the United States, the hospital contributes to a network that serves people and communities across 21 states, delivering nearly 2.8 million visits annually. Working at Holy Cross Hospital means joining a workplace culture that emphasizes mutual support, open and respectful communication, accountability, presence, and trust in good intentions. The organization fosters an environment where employees are valued for their unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce. Comprehensive benefits begin from the very first day of employment, including competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, a 403B retirement savings program with employer matching, and education assistance to support continuous growth and development. Holy Cross Hospital also prides itself on its adherence to equal opportunity employment principles, ensuring that no applicant or employee is discriminated against based on race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class under federal, state, or local law. Rooted in the mission and core values, the hospital honors the dignity of every person and values the unique perspectives and experiences each colleague brings, fostering collaboration and compassionate care across all levels of the institution.
The role of Nutritional Services Retail Supervisor is a vital leadership position within the hospital’s food service operations. This full-time, day shift position (12:30pm to 9:00pm, including alternating weekends) focuses on overseeing the daily management of the hospital’s cafeteria, coffee shop, and other retail food outlets. The primary goal is to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe food service to hospital staff, visitors, and patients alike. The supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of retail food operations, including supervising hourly associates by scheduling, training, coaching, and task assignment. Attention to cleanliness, food display, and service standards is essential to maintaining a welcoming and hygienic environment for all customers. This role demands expertise in inventory and cash management, requiring accurate stock level oversight and daily reconciliation of revenue and sales reports. Adherence to federal, state, and local sanitation regulations, including HACCP standards, temperature control, and safe food handling procedures, is critical to maintaining the highest levels of food safety and compliance. The supervisor also acts as a key operational backup by stepping in to cover essential positions during staff shortages and serving as the primary contact in the absence of Food Service Management. Candidates with strong computer and customer service skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic service environment will excel in this role. This position requires 3-5 years of supervisory experience in food service operations, and candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree preferred. New hires must complete a sanitation certification course or obtain ServSafe certification within six months of employment. With comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment committed to service and excellence, this role at Holy Cross Hospital offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected healthcare institution while developing professionally in food service leadership.
