Job Description

Gem Prep Meridian is part of the Gem Prep network of K-12 college preparatory schools, which focus on empowering students to graduate high school with associate degrees while cultivating strong academic foundations from the elementary level through high school. As an initiative within the Gem Innovation Schools organization, Gem Prep serves students across Idaho through a variety of educational models including large brick-and-mortar charter schools, a statewide virtual school, and micro school-like Learning Societies. This network is committed to providing high-quality, personalized, relevant, and rigorous education aimed at preparing students for success in college and beyond. The school emphasizes exceptional teaching, innovative uses of technology, and active partnerships with families to support student growth and achievement.

At Gem Prep Meridian, the Nutrition Services Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining an efficient, clean, and welcoming school dining environment where students receive nutritious meals every day. Reporting to the School Operations Manager with the building principal as the supervisor, the Nutrition Services Lead ensures smooth daily operation by overseeing food preparation and service, managing inventory and supply procurement, maintaining sanitary conditions, and keeping accurate records of meal counts and cash transactions. This full-time position offers an hourly wage of $14.00 and provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the well-being and success of the school's students. The role requires a strong commitment to health and safety standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support school discipline and instructional programs through interactions with students in non-classroom settings.

Working at Gem Prep means joining a community dedicated to results, innovation, integrity, humility, and teamwork. Staff members are expected to embody essential competencies such as being self-aware, self-directed, self-disciplined, creative problem solvers, skilled communicators and collaborators, and civic-minded individuals. The organization values fluidity and tenacity in its workforce, encouraging employees to embrace new educational approaches and maintain high ethical standards while working collectively to support every student's growth and success. This role is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who want to play a vital part in nurturing a supportive and effective learning environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.
