The Nutrition Services Leader position at Farmington Hills Hospital is a full-time, rotating shift role that requires hands-on leadership to oversee the daily operations of the assigned work unit within the Nutrition Department. The leader is responsible for the management and development of the team, ensuring high standards are met in food production and patient dietary services. This role involves scheduling, training, coaching, and evaluating staff members while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
This role is pivotal in guaranteeing that the dietary menus are followed accurately and that all food items produced meet quality and safety guidelines. The Nutrition Services Leader works closely with management teams to communicate unit performance, optimize staffing, and identify opportunities for improvement. They also handle conflict resolution, support teamwork among staff, and ensure the work area is always inspection-ready and compliant with hospital and regulatory standards.
The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and substantial experience in a nutritional or food service leadership position, including certifications such as CRT-ServSafe Handler and Manager credentials from the National Restaurant Association. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree in a food service-related field and additional experience in managing patient and retail food service operations as well as therapeutic diet knowledge.

- minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Nutrition Services Leader in culinary or food production areas
- CRT-ServSafe Handler certification within 90 days
- CRT-ServSafe Manager certification within 90 days
- ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
