Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- associates degree preferred
- AAS in Culinary Arts preferred
- minimum three months cook's experience or training in a commercial environment
- one year experience in quantity cooking in healthcare, hotel, or restaurant preferred
- ability to follow standardized recipes and therapeutic diet guidelines
- strong attention to safety and sanitation practices
- capability to manage food production schedules and inventory
- good communication and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications

- preferred one year experience in quantity cooking in healthcare or hotel/restaurant
- demonstrated culinary work experience
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals using diverse methods such as baking, braising, and sauteing while following standardized recipes
- Ensure all food is prepared according to planned menus and specific therapeutic diet orders maintaining portion control and nutritional guidelines
- Maintain a sanitary work environment by following federal, state, and local regulations including monitoring food temperatures, labeling, storage, and infection control protocols
- Manage food production schedules to ensure timely meal service and utilize batch cooking to minimize waste
- Accurately track inventory and leftovers to control food costs
- Collaborate with Nutrition Services department to meet dietary needs of residents
- Adhere to safety standards and regulatory compliance in food handling and preparation
