The Nutrition Services Assistant will support daily dietary requests and ensure food safety and quality by maintaining appropriate temperatures and cleanliness standards. Duties include setting up food service areas such as steam tables, salad bars, and coffee stations, preparing pizzas to order, supporting catering events, and managing cash registers with accuracy.
This full-time position operates varying hours between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays based on business needs. Job Duties
- perform a variety of duties related to the set-up, delivery and food service
- assist with daily dietary requests and needs of patients, visitors and caregivers
- maintain a clean and orderly work area
- prepare, set up and replenish steam table, salad bar, cooler, baker's racks, coffee area, condiments and silverware throughout the meal period
- make pizzas to order and maintain all ingredients
- set up and support catering events
- maintain the register and proper cash handling with overages/shortages of less than 1.5% of total drawer
- ensure proper food temperature using calibrated thermometers
- rotate, prepare and label all leftover food
- set up, serve and collect dinner patient trays
- complete cleaning assignments
