Job Description

This role is a continuing position within the Nutrition Services department under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager. The primary responsibility is to prepare baked goods, salads, meat dishes, and other main courses while assisting in meal preparation, service, and cleanup. The position aims to ensure the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals that meet budget objectives and support student health. Additionally, the individual will engage with kitchen staff, school personnel, students, and the public professionally and collaboratively. In the absence of the Cafeteria Manager, this role will assume managerial duties. The schedule for this position is typically 8 hours per day, from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, starting approximately August 24, 2026.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in similar food service role
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Must be able to work the scheduled hours
  • Willingness to comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint background check
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or nutrition services preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience supervising or training others is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
  • Basic understanding of inventory and record keeping procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare baked products, salads, meat dishes, and other main dishes
  • Assist with meal preparation, meal service, and cleanup
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and program procedures
  • Supervise and train prep worker personnel, student workers, and substitutes
  • Transport food to other school locations when required
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and inventory management
  • Complete required training and attend workshops
  • Assist with kitchen opening and closing tasks
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
