Job Description

The Alpine School District, located in Liberty Hills, is proud to offer comprehensive nutrition services aimed at supporting the health and well-being of students and school personnel. As an integral part of this educational district, the Nutrition Services department is dedicated to providing healthy, nourishing meals to children in elementary schools, ensuring that they have the energy and nutrients necessary to succeed academically and maintain overall good health. The district embraces a culture of teamwork, safety, and efficiency, creating a positive environment for staff and students alike. This position is designated as an Education Support Professional role within the Nutrition/Nutrition Services-Elementary category, highlighting its importance in the daily operations of the schools' food service program. This opportunity comes with a Lane 9 contract and benefits package under a 180-day contract term. The workday consists of 6 hours per day, and the hourly wage ranges from $19.77 to $22.22, contingent upon experience and qualifications. Work starts on August 12, 2026, providing ample time for onboarding and training. The position is supported by a helpful contact person, Sylvia Jenson, who can be reached by phone at 801-610-8030 or email at [email protected] for inquiries or further information.

The role of Nutrition Service Worker-Traveling is dynamic and involves providing essential support for food service activities across assigned school locations. The primary responsibility is to prepare and serve food items to students and other school staff members in an efficient and sanitary manner. The job requires strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including maintaining facilities and equipment in a clean and sanitary state. Attending unit meetings and in-service training such as Food Handler's Permit training ensures that employees stay informed and compliant with food safety standards and district policies. The position also includes cooking and food preparation duties to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements, inventory management, and quality inspections of food supplies and equipment. This role is ideal for those who are detail-oriented, enjoy working in a team environment, and are committed to contributing to the wellness of students through quality food service. The Nutrition Service Worker will be expected to assist in other nutritional service functions as requested by supervisors, ensuring adequate staff coverage and smooth operation of nutrition services within the schools. Because this role involves physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy items, it demands stamina and physical capability. Overall, this position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ daily nutrition while working within a supportive and community-focused school district environment.
