The district's Nutrition Services team is dedicated to meeting state and federal nutritional guidelines and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. They strive to provide a welcoming environment in their cafeterias while managing resources efficiently and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
The position available is for a Nutrition Services Manager at the elementary school level. As a Nutrition Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all food service activities at an assigned elementary school within the Alpine School District. This is a full-time position with a 182-day contract starting August 12, 2026, working 7 hours per day. The pay range is between $24.45 and $27.48 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This role not only involves direct supervision of cafeteria personnel but also includes planning menus that meet mandated nutritional standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and managing inventory and food preparation processes.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for organizing food preparation activities, assisting cafeteria workers with meal service, and ensuring high-quality food presentation and safety standards are consistently met. The position requires someone who can efficiently manage assigned site operations, including staffing, ordering supplies, monitoring equipment maintenance, and responding to inquiries from students and staff. You will play an essential role in maintaining sanitary conditions across all food preparation and serving areas, performing inventory checks, and keeping detailed records about food service operations.
The Nutrition Services Manager supports a healthy school culture by overseeing meal accounts, identifying students with special dietary needs or food allergies, and participating in ongoing training and development. This ensures the team stays up to date with nutrition service best practices and regulatory requirements. Providing a safe, clean, and pleasant dining environment for students is central to this position. You will be tasked with training and evaluating new employees and future managers, contributing to the growth of a qualified, efficient workforce.
Overall, this position offers a rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about nutrition, child wellness, and effective food service management within an educational setting. If you have experience in food service management, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering healthy eating habits among young students, this could be the ideal role for you.
