Job Description

Manteca Unified School District (MUSD) is a dynamic educational institution committed to fostering a student-centered learning environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative communication. Serving a diverse community across Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, and the township of French Camp, MUSD provides educational services to over 25,000 students supported by more than 3,000 dedicated staff members. Spanning approximately 113 square miles in the southern part of San Joaquin County, the district encompasses more than 30 schools that cater to a culturally diverse population living in rural and urban settings. MUSD emphasizes a collaborative partnership with families and the community to ensure programs align with grade-level standards, maintain safety as a top priority, and provide meaningful and measurable educational experiences for all students.

The role of Nutrition Service Lead Assistant within the MUSD offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of students by assisting in the preparation and serving of food in school cafeterias. This position requires the provision of lead responsibility for a satellite school operation, including the receipt and serving of bulk food items. Under general supervision, candidates will be expected to clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, ensuring all food service operations adhere to safety and sanitation standards. The position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., including a 1/2 hour lunch break. It is a vital role in supporting the district's commitment to providing nutritious meals to diverse student populations, helping to establish an environment where students can thrive academically and physically. The district offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, with an option for cash compensation in lieu of benefits enrollment for applicants with verified coverage. This role supports MUSD's mission by serving as a frontline team member responsible for the smooth running of food services, contributing to the overall educational experience and well-being of the students and staff.
