The role involves performing a wide range of food and guest service duties under general supervision at Platte Valley Hospital. The position encompasses several responsibilities depending on the facility’s requirements, including patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier functions, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning tasks. Key functions include delivering and presenting trays to patients while adhering to standard procedures, preparing food items such as salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit following system recipes and standards, and maintaining high-quality nutrition service practices during dining and meal delivery experiences. This role also entails performing housekeeping duties which include cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floors, and equipment such as ovens, fryers, and hoods to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene protocols.
Another critical aspect of the position involves handling cash and credit transactions accurately in accordance with system standards, as well as independently resolving basic customer service issues to maintain a positive dining experience for patients and guests. The ideal candidate will be skilled in active listening, communicating clearly, focusing on guest satisfaction, coordinating tasks with team members, and paying strong attention to detail. Physical requirements include the ability to see and read information, labels, and monitors accurately, frequent communication with customers, manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment, and the capacity to lift and move heavy items. Employees must also be able to work on their hands and knees when necessary, tolerate temperature extremes, and handle exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Job Requirements
- Education level not specified
- Previous experience in food service or related field preferred
- Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required in Utah and Idaho by first day of work
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Capacity to work flexible schedules including on-call shifts
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy items
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperature extremes and cleaning chemicals
Job Qualifications
