Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience working in food service or cooking in a commercial kitchen preferred
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Proof of employment eligibility
- Compliance with employee dress code
- Ability to work with money and make change
- Availability to work Monday to Friday when school is in session
- Commitment to equity and inclusion principles
Job Qualifications
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work with a computerized cash register
- Ability to receive directions in English over the phone and at the work site
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently following verbal and written instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull 70-100 lbs
- Maintain a current Multnomah County Food Handler's Certification
- Willingness to travel to all schools throughout the district
Job Duties
- Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for PPS students
- Provide excellent customer service
- Cashiering and handling cash transactions with student customers
- Handle food safely and efficiently
- Maintain a sanitary environment at all times
- Multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
