Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • One year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Must have Food Handlers Permit approved by TXDSHS or ANSI, or Certified Food Manager certification obtained within 90 days with renewal every 5 years
  • Ability to safely perform assigned duties confirmed by ongoing competency assessments
  • Proficiency in English necessary for safe communication
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to analyze information to make informed decisions
  • Ability to take appropriate follow-up actions to resolve issues
  • Must follow sanitation and safety procedures according to department policies
  • Commitment to teamwork and positive workplace communication

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • One year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Food Handlers Permit or Certified Food Manager certification
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated good judgment and professional decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing
  • Ability to listen actively and effectively respond to patient needs

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and educate them on dining services programs and processes specific to their prescribed diets
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all complaints involving patient food services and follow through on problem resolution
  • Assist patients with menu selection and order placement using computerized software
  • Deliver and set up meals and trays ensuring accuracy, presentation, and patient satisfaction
  • Monitor and document patient feedback, communicate concerns to management, and contribute to quality improvement projects
  • Maintain sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety ordinances and department policies
  • Inventory and manage supplies effectively to reduce waste and support budget adherence
