Job Description
Wellstar Health System is a prominent and integrated healthcare provider in Georgia, dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of every person it serves. With a mission centered on compassion, excellence, and honoring every voice, Wellstar has become a shining example of what is achievable when passionate healthcare professionals commit to making a meaningful difference in people's lives. The organization operates numerous healthcare facilities and services, including senior living communities, hospitals, and outpatient care, all designed to foster better health outcomes for patients. At the heart of Wellstar's success lies a culture that values each employee's contribution and ideas, creating a collaborative and supportive environment for career growth and personal fulfillment.
This opportunity is for the position of Nutrition & Food Services Leader 2 at Atherton Place, a senior living community where residents enjoy three chef-prepared meals each day served in a warm, restaurant-style environment. Atherton Place offers tasteful, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner with convenient dining room options, aiming to provide excellent customer service and nutritious dining experiences for senior residents. This role is essential in overseeing all foodservice functions, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and promoting a positive work environment for team members. The position typically works day shifts from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm with rotating weekend duties, providing opportunities to engage with staff across a variety of hospitality and culinary settings.
As a Nutrition & Food Services Leader 2, the successful candidate will maintain strict adherence to health regulations such as HACCP and county Health Department guidelines by monitoring safety practices, food temperatures, and cleanliness in all food and service areas. This role demands supervisory expertise to interview, evaluate, and mentor team members, supporting growth and performance improvement while upholding human resources policies. Responsibilities also include scheduling, training, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met. The leader will encourage a world-class work environment by fostering respect, collaboration, and clear communication among team members and customers, helping to create an engaging and rewarding workplace.
Attention to detail is crucial for this role since it involves monitoring proper food storage, equipment operation, and infection control measures. The leader will also handle disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and employee engagement activities aligned with organizational goals. Skills in customer service, dining area presentation, and food preparation are highly preferred, especially experience related to senior living or healthcare foodservice settings. The position requires a minimum of four years of experience with supervisory responsibilities and a ServSafe Food Handler certification, ensuring qualified leadership in nutrition and food operations.
By joining Wellstar and Atherton Place, employees can expect a supportive and dynamic atmosphere that promotes work-life balance and professional development. This role offers the chance to deliver meaningful service while advancing a career within one of Georgia's most respected health systems. Candidates passionate about food service excellence, safety compliance, and team leadership will find this position rewarding in both challenge and impact.
