Job Requirements

  • three plus years supervisory experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, and restaurant or catering environment or equivalent experience in the related field preferred
  • knowledge and understanding of the process of manufactured food
  • large kitchen experience and ability to lead a team
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • problem solving and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • current certified dietary manager credentials or graduate of an accredited course or 3 years supervisory food service experience
  • current food safety certification
  • three years experience in a restaurant, health care, or senior services setting
  • experience in special event planning
  • demonstrated competencies in food service management and operations, quality management, staff development, cooking, and clinical nutrition for the elderly
  • must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies
  • demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers

Job Duties

  • conduct daily work group briefings
  • ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards including FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, HACCP
  • document and follow up on all department processes to implement improvements
  • ensure on-time and accurate production
  • supervise frontline teams including supervisors, cooks/chefs, servers, and lead servers
  • coordinate operational workflows to meet production timelines
  • maintain safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen environment
