Established in 1955, PHS has grown to become one of the largest nonprofit providers of senior housing and services in the United States. With a dedicated team of approximately 8,000 employees, PHS serves more than 41,800 older adults across 60 affiliated senior living communities located in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Beyond residential care, PHS extends its reach through Optage® home and community services and co-owns Genevive, Minnesota's largest geriatric primary care practice, delivering extensive healthcare to over 15,500 older adults. The organization is renowned for its innovation in promoting independence, purposeful living, and overall wellness for seniors, making it a pillar in the senior care community.
The Nutrition and Culinary Services Assistant Director role at Presbyterian Homes & Services - Optage Meals represents a pivotal leadership position within a fast-paced, high-volume commissary kitchen environment. The assistant director will oversee essential aspects of food preparation, assembly, and quality control, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, timely, and safe meals to residents and customers. Reporting directly to the Commissary Kitchen Director, this role supervises supervisors, cooks, chefs, servers, and lead servers at the site, working closely with the leadership team to implement strategies that maintain exceptional meal quality and operational targets. Key responsibilities include conducting daily work briefings, adhering to FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, and HACCP regulations, improving departmental processes, and guaranteeing production milestones are met consistently.
