Job Description

Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a well-established acute care hospital located in southern Palm Beach County, Florida. Spanning 30 acres, this 536-bed facility has been serving the community for over 40 years. With a robust team comprising over 1,700 employees and 700 physicians, Delray Medical Center is recognized as both a community hospital and a state-designated Level I Trauma Center. The hospital offers a wide range of specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular care, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care, and weight-loss surgery. Additionally, it houses the only state-designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county, Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital, as well as Fair Oaks Pavilion, a 53-bed adult psychiatry unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager role at Delray Medical Center is a full-time day position that offers up to $10,000 sign-on bonus paid over 24 months for qualified candidates. This vital leadership position collaborates closely with the Director to manage administrative and clinical aspects of patient care units. The manager plays a critical role in organizing, developing, directing, and ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality patient care in compliance with hospital, state, federal, Joint Commission, and ANA standards and regulations. The position demands 24-hour accountability to guarantee clinical resources and continuity of patient care. Core responsibilities include serving as a clinical resource, role model, and mentor for staff; promoting development of clinical and leadership skills among assistant nurse managers and clinical personnel; participating actively in performance improvement processes to optimize patient outcomes; providing staff education based on both theoretical knowledge and clinical expertise; and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and emergency protocols. This leadership role requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field at minimum, while a master’s degree or equivalent management experience is preferred. Candidates must hold a registered nurse license in Florida, possess BLS certification, and ACLS certification if managing critical care. Job Requirements

  • Two years experience in clinical related specialty
  • One year supervisory or management experience
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification

  • Managerial experience able to relate to a large variety of individuals
  • National certification in area of specialty strongly preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model or mentor in the delivery of patient care
  • Promote the development of clinical and leadership skills of the assistant nurse managers and clinical personnel
  • Participate in the performance improvement process to improve patient outcomes
  • Assist in management of the patient care unit as related to administrative aspects of organizing, developing and directing
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of resource consumption
  • Maintain knowledge base related to customer service and customer satisfaction
  • Provide in-services and staff development programs for patient care services staff
  • Assume responsibility for coordination of new employee orientation and provide unit-specific orientation
  • Represent the Unit Director and specific unit during committee participation as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures that pertain to HIPAA including the minimum necessary requirements for all positions within span of control
  • Perform and fulfill all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency or disaster
  • Responsible for knowing the Hospital's emergency codes and adhere to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code
