Job Description
Delray Medical Center is a prominent healthcare establishment located in southern Palm Beach County, Florida. As part of the Palm Beach Health Network, the hospital has proudly served the community for over 40 years. This 536-bed acute care hospital spans 30 acres and employs a dedicated workforce of over 1,700 employees and 700 physicians. As both a community hospital and a state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center is well-equipped to provide a wide range of specialized medical services. These include advanced cardiac and vascular care, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care, and weight-loss surgery. Furthermore, the Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the sole state-designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county, reflecting the hospital's commitment to comprehensive and specialized rehabilitative care. Additionally, the hospital is home to Fair Oaks Pavilion, a 53-bed adult psychiatry unit, further broadening its scope of mental health services. Delray Medical Center’s strong emphasis on quality care, community service, and professional development makes it a respected institution within the regional healthcare landscape.
The role of Clinical Nurse Manager at Delray Medical Center is a critical leadership position designed to oversee the clinical and administrative functions of a patient care unit. Working collaboratively with the Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing, developing, directing, and ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, quality patient care. This role demands an individual who is not only a clinical expert but also an effective manager capable of fostering a supportive and efficient environment for both patients and staff. The position holds 24-hour accountability for clinical resources and continuity of care, ensuring that the patient care delivered aligns with hospital standards as well as state, federal, Joint Commission, and American Nurses Association (ANA) policies and regulations.
Key responsibilities include serving as a clinical resource and mentor, promoting clinical and leadership development among assistant nurse managers and clinical staff, and actively participating in continuous performance improvement processes aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. The Clinical Nurse Manager also manages administrative aspects of the unit, including resource management and compliance with customer service expectations, while providing educational programs and staff development initiatives. Orientation coordination for new employees and representing the unit in various committees highlight the collaborative and participative nature of the role. The position also requires adherence to HIPAA policies and active involvement in the hospital's emergency preparedness system, including Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) duties.
This role is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field, supplemented by at least two years of clinical experience in a specialty area and one year in a supervisory or management capacity. Registration as a nurse in the State of Florida is required, along with American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for those managing critical care units. Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education, Management, or a related field and national certification in their specialty are preferred. The hospital offers a competitive compensation package, including a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 paid over 24 months, reflecting its commitment to attracting and retaining high-caliber nursing professionals.
Joining Delray Medical Center as a Clinical Nurse Manager offers the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking healthcare institution that values innovation, professional growth, and team collaboration. In return for your expertise and dedication, the center provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement savings plans with employer matches; generous paid time off; career development and continuing education opportunities; and various voluntary insurance programs. This combination of professional and personal growth opportunities with competitive remuneration underscores Delray Medical Center’s mission to deliver exceptional patient care through empowered healthcare leaders.
