The role of Clinical Nurse Manager at Delray Medical Center is a full-time, daytime position offering a substantial sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates, paid over a 24-month period. This leadership role operates collaboratively under the guidance of the Director, with shared responsibility for overseeing the administrative and clinical operations of the patient care unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager is pivotal in organizing, developing, directing, and ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality patient care that aligns with hospital, state, federal, Joint Commission, and ANA standards and policies. This position demands twenty-four-hour accountability to maintain clinical resources and continuity of patient care.

Key responsibilities include serving as a clinical mentor and resource, promoting the growth of clinical and leadership skills among assistant nurse managers and clinical personnel, participating actively in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, and overseeing the administrative management of the patient care unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager should possess a solid understanding of resource consumption and a commitment to customer service excellence. Additionally, this role entails providing in-services and development programs for patient care staff, coordinating new employee orientations, representing the unit in various committee assignments, ensuring HIPAA compliance within the unit, and fulfilling roles in the hospital incident command system during emergencies.

Candidates for this role must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent competencies and job experience, with a preference for a Master's degree in Nursing, Education, Management, or related disciplines. Applicants should bring at least two years of experience in a clinical specialty along with one year of supervisory or management experience. Knowledge of Quality Improvement processes and Joint Commission standards is critical. Essential certifications include an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida, American Heart Association BLS certification, and ACLS certification for those managing critical care. Managerial experience with the ability to effectively relate to diverse individuals and a national certification in the specialty area are strongly preferred.
