Job Description

West Boca Medical Center (WBMC) is a reputable healthcare facility that has been serving the southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. As a part of the Palm Beach Health Network, WBMC is committed to providing high-quality medical care to its community. The center offers a comprehensive range of services including general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the-art breast imaging center, women’s and children’s services, and the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in southern Palm Beach County. WBMC operates two 24-hour emergency centers, one located at the main hospital and another in Coconut Creek, ensuring continuous access to emergency care for the communities it serves. The role available is for a full-time Nursing Supervisor with a rotating shift schedule. This position offers compensation up to $20,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months. The primary responsibility of the Nursing Supervisor is to provide leadership, direction, and supervision to nursing staff involved in surgical services. The role involves ensuring safe and effective nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, overseeing nursing duties in accordance with AORN, ASPAN, and SGNA standards, as well as the hospital’s established policies and procedures. The supervisor will also manage departments including Surgery, Sterile Processing, and Anesthesia Technicians, maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff. This leadership role requires collaboration with the Director to assist in employment interviews, staff performance assessments, scheduling, and contributing to the ongoing Performance Improvement Program. The position emphasizes evidence-based practice and adherence to professional nursing standards, including compliance with the Florida State Nurse Practice Act. The Nursing Supervisor will review orders and test results and ensure accurate and timely documentation of care in electronic health records. Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an RN program
  • Minimum of three years managerial experience preferred
  • Current Florida RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Understanding of AORN standards of practice
  • Understanding of ASPAN standards of practice
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to the unit
