As part of the Palm Beach Health Network, it has been a pillar of healthcare excellence for over four decades, employing more than 1,700 healthcare professionals and over 700 physicians. The hospital serves diverse patient needs, offering state-of-the-art specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular care, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency medical services, and weight-loss surgery. Delray Medical Center also houses Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital, the only state-designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county. Additionally, it features the Fair Oaks Pavilion, a 53-bed adult psychiatry unit, cementing its commitment to comprehensive patient care across multiple disciplines.
The facility's standing as a Level I Trauma Center further underscores its capability to provide critical emergency services alongside dedicated community healthcare provisions. Employees at Delray Medical Center are supported by a broad spectrum of benefits and continuous career development opportunities, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to fostering a supportive and enriching work environment.
The Clinical Manager role within the Emergency Department is a pivotal leadership position designed for experienced healthcare professionals who are passionate about operational excellence and exceptional patient care. This full-time, day-shift role offers qualified candidates a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 paid over 24 months, reflecting the value placed on attracting top talent.
In this capacity, the Clinical Manager bears comprehensive responsibility for the operational and clinical oversight of both the main Emergency Department and the Off-Campus Emergency Department. Key functions include directing staffing and scheduling to optimize human resources, managing department-specific education and orientation programs, conducting performance evaluations, and contributing to policy development and compliance. This leadership role emphasizes collaboration across departments to promote efficient throughput, ensure adherence to quality core measures, and maintain seamless communication between inpatient units, physicians, and ancillary teams regarding patient care and quality assurance.
The Clinical Manager is accountable to the Administrative Nursing Director and plays a critical role in resource allocation to enhance compassionate and effective nursing care. The position also acts as a liaison that integrates nursing personnel with other healthcare disciplines, fostering collegial relationships and encouraging participative decision-making and policy formulation among staff.
Candidates for this role will oversee the supervision and guidance of nursing personnel, coordinate services between nursing and other health care disciplines, and manage staffing assignments to ensure appropriate personnel utilization. They are also responsible for evaluating staff performance, nurturing educational opportunities for nursing professionals and students, and fostering a climate that supports peer review and ongoing professional development. The Clinical Manager engages in recruitment, selection, and retention efforts while monitoring budgets and participating in evaluative research activities.
Delray Medical Center prioritizes continuous improvement in patient care quality and operational efficiencies, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, including Joint Commission standards. The Clinical Manager will be instrumental in analyzing department metrics such as length of stay, avoidable days, and data disputes, and will be expected to implement strategies that enhance patient flow and departmental throughput.
This meaningful leadership opportunity is ideal for an innovative healthcare leader ready to inspire a multi-disciplinary team and drive outstanding patient care outcomes at a prestigious community hospital. Delray Medical Center stands out as an employer that not only invests in its employees’ financial and professional wellbeing but also fosters a supportive and inclusive workplace where healthcare leaders can thrive and impact their communities profoundly.
