Job Description
Delray Medical Center, a prominent healthcare institution in southern Palm Beach County, is a 536-bed acute care hospital that has been serving the community for over 40 years. As part of the Palm Beach Health Network, it employs more than 1,700 dedicated professionals and 700 physicians. This state-designated Level I Trauma Center is widely respected for its comprehensive and advanced medical services, including specialized cardiac and vascular care, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care, and weight-loss surgery. The Medical Center also hosts the only state-designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county, Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital, and the Fair Oaks Pavilion, a 53-bed adult psychiatry unit. This diverse and dynamic environment offers a robust platform for healthcare professionals seeking a rewarding career path in a community-focused and innovative hospital setting.
The Clinical Manager role at Delray Medical Center is a full-time, daytime leadership position that commands operational and clinical oversight of both the Emergency Department and Off-Campus Emergency Department. This critical role involves managing staffing and scheduling, fostering department-specific education and orientation programs, conducting performance evaluations, and spearheading policy development. The Clinical Manager ensures strict compliance with Tenet healthcare policies and plays a pivotal role in optimizing patient throughput, managing core quality metrics, and fostering collaboration across ancillary departments. This position requires the Clinical Manager to bridge communication among inpatient departments, physicians, and support services, constantly analyzing key reports such as length of stay (LOS), avoidable days, and other Emergency Department performance indicators.
The role also demands adherence to regulatory policies relating specifically to Emergency Department operations and requires the Clinical Manager to assume comprehensive organizational accountability for patient services. Acting as a vital liaison, the Clinical Manager coordinates activities among nursing staff and other health disciplines while promoting a supportive and educational workplace culture. Emphasis is placed on peer review, quality of care assessment, participation in policy formation, and facilitating the ongoing professional development of nursing personnel, including staff orientation, credentialing, and continued education.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field, preferably with a Master’s Degree or equivalent competencies in nursing, education, or management. Candidates should have at least two years of clinical experience in a relevant specialty, including one year in a leadership or supervisory capacity, with a strong familiarity with Quality Improvement processes and Joint Commission standards. Licensing is crucial, including a Florida Registered Nurse license and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC); Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credentials are preferred.
Joining Delray Medical Center means becoming part of a supportive and growing healthcare community that values not only clinical expertise but also leadership, innovation, and compassion. The Medical Center offers competitive benefits including up to $15,000 sign-on bonus paid over 24 months, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match, paid time off, and numerous professional development opportunities to support your career growth and work-life balance. If you are a motivated healthcare leader eager to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives and advance your career in a highly respected hospital system, Delray Medical Center invites you to explore this exceptional opportunity.
