Job Requirements
- Masters degree required in nursing, business, health care administration or related field
- one degree must be in nursing
- three to five years relevant clinical and/or management experience
- licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan
- strong leadership skills

Job Qualifications
- Masters degree in nursing, business, health care administration or related field, with one degree required to be in nursing
- three to five years of experience including clinical and/or progressively responsible management roles
- registered nurse licensed in the state of Michigan

- knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
- excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- proficiency in budget management and financial planning
- experience in staff development and performance improvement

Job Duties
- Assures quality and appropriateness of care
- facilitates and supports establishment of unit-based quality improvement programs and continuous improvement processes
- manages and measures accountability using processes and metrics
- creates an environment of shared decision-making
- promotes multidisciplinary collaboration on patient care and related issues
- facilitates removal of barriers inhibiting staff performance
- promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors, and employees
- follows up on all complaints and provides feedback
- monitors patient, staff, and physician satisfaction
- adheres to customer service standards
- plans, implements, and evaluates staff development and competency maintenance programs
- supports professional growth and development programs
- ensures staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education
- develops, implements, monitors, and adjusts capital and operating budgets
- provides variance reports and corrective action plans
- mentors subordinate staff on budget creation and evaluation
- implements cost containment measures
- collaborates with finance representatives on supplemental reports
- develops business plans and requests for proposals
- interviews, selects, evaluates, counsels, disciplines, and terminates unit personnel
- ensures timely completion of human resource activities
- monitors retention and recruitment reports
- collaborates to ensure policies, procedures, and standards are reviewed and revised according to regulatory guidelines
- ensures staff compliance with laws and regulations
- develops unit goals and objectives aligned with organizational mission and values
- maintains communication lines through staff meetings
- monitors compliance with laws, regulations, Joint Commission requirements, and policies
- implements audit recommendations
- ensures diversity achievement in supplier selection
