Job Description
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center (PBGMC) is a 199-bed acute care hospital that serves the Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast communities. As part of the Palm Beach Health Network, the largest health care network in Palm Beach County, PBGMC has been providing exceptional medical care for over 50 years. The hospital is renowned for being the first in the county to perform open-heart surgery and continues to be a leader in cardiac care. In addition to cardiac services, PBGMC offers award-winning stroke care, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, and advanced surgical techniques including robot-assisted and minimally invasive procedures. The hospital also emphasizes patient-centered services such as bloodless medicine and operates a 24-hour emergency room to provide comprehensive acute care services around the clock.
We are currently seeking a full-time, day-shift Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to join our clinical leadership team at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. This critical role focuses on enhancing quality and improving patient experience across the entire hospital. The Assistant Nurse Manager will play a vital role in directly engaging with patients and their families, supervising and coordinating the delivery of patient care, and ensuring all supplemental services are executed to promote an outstanding care experience.
The ANM is responsible for implementing, educating, and enforcing hospital policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements, including those related to patient safety. This position involves working collaboratively with nurses, medical staff, and hospital personnel to guarantee a consistent and timely delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the facility. A key component of the role includes establishing a systematic approach for addressing and resolving customer concerns and complaints. The ANM will design and manage a hospital-wide customer service program aimed at achieving top-tier patient satisfaction scores, such as those reflected in the Patient Experience/HCAHPS metrics.
Administrative duties include providing support to nursing staff in the absence of the Nurse Manager or Director and facilitating collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective coordination of patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager will assist with patient placement efforts to maintain timely patient throughput and will work closely with Unit Shift Managers to provide leadership and guidance in daily operations. Additional responsibilities include addressing human resource issues, participating in disciplinary actions when necessary, and ensuring staff certifications and licensures are current.
An essential part of this leadership position involves rounding on patients to engage them in their care through tools like whiteboards, designed to enhance inpatient satisfaction. The ANM must demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and organizational skills, and be adept at problem-solving while escalating issues appropriately. This full-time role is primarily Monday through Friday, day shifts, with occasional off-hours for night shift coverage or off-site events as required. Join Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and contribute to a culture of excellence in patient care, safety, and service that is recognized throughout the region.
