Job Description
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center (PBGMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a well-established 199-bed acute care hospital serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast communities for over 50 years. As the largest healthcare network in Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach Health Network prioritizes exceptional patient care and comprehensive medical services. PBGMC has a strong legacy of innovation, being the first hospital in the county to perform open-heart surgery. It continues to lead in cardiac care and offers award-winning services in stroke care, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgeries, bloodless medicine, and a 24-hour emergency room. The hospital is dedicated to providing top-tier patient experiences through cutting-edge clinical services and a supportive environment for both patients and staff.
The role of Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is a full-time, day-shift position focused on enhancing quality of care and improving the patient experience hospital-wide. This leadership position involves direct engagement with patients and families to ensure that all identified patient care needs and supplemental services are executed effectively, promoting an outstanding care experience. The ANM plays a critical role in implementing, educating, and enforcing compliance with hospital policies, standards, and regulatory requirements including patient safety protocols. This position also involves designing and overseeing a comprehensive customer service program aimed at achieving industry-leading patient satisfaction and improved HCAHPS scores.
In this role, the ANM offers administrative support in the absence of the Manager or Director, collaborates with all disciplines to coordinate quality patient care, facilitates timely patient placement and throughput, and provides operational guidance to unit shift managers. The position requires active participation in addressing human resource concerns, supporting staff scheduling to minimize agency use, reviewing usage of specialty beds to prevent falls and pressure ulcers, and conducting patient room rounds to engage patients and enhance satisfaction. This dynamic role demands exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills along with a strong commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in patient care and customer service throughout the hospital.
