This job opening is for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Primary Care at one of Baylor Scott & White’s large family medicine clinics. The clinic supports approximately 20 family medicine providers and operates with a team-focused Enhanced Care Team (ECT) model which ensures strong interdisciplinary collaboration. The NP will be part of a close-knit environment, receiving support from a dedicated medical assistant, shared licensed vocational nurses (LVN), registered nurses (RN), social workers, and front desk staff. Monthly quality assurance collaboration sessions with supervising physicians are integral to the role, fostering professional guidance and continuous quality improvement.

The NP role is designed for both new graduates and experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) seeking a professional setting that values structured onboarding and mentorship. New graduates receive 12-18 months of transition support and ongoing mentorship from supervising physicians and APP leadership, ensuring a supportive career foundation. The role offers flexible scheduling primarily Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the opportunity for four 10-hour shifts (4x10s), accommodating work-life balance.

Clinically, the NP will manage a patient load averaging 18 patients per day, encompassing a mix of new patient intakes, follow-ups, and acute care visits. Responsibilities include managing individual and shared in-basket tasks, performing procedures such as Pap smears, and opportunities to expand procedural skills if desired. As a licensed, certified healthcare provider with prescriptive authority, the NP will independently provide medical care within the physician’s scope of practice. They will assess patients' physical and mental health conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and counsel patients and their families on health management and medication usage.

This position requires a current Texas Nurse Practitioner license, RN licensure or compact privilege, national NP certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
