It is deeply rooted in core values that emphasize faithful service, continuous improvement, teamwork, and impactful care delivery. These values set the foundation for a workplace culture that inspires employees to strive for excellence in every aspect of their roles.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Primary Care position at Baylor Scott & White Health offers employment in a large, well-established clinic with approximately 20 Family Medicine providers, creating a dynamic and supportive setting for delivering quality healthcare. This role is primarily Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexible scheduling options including the opportunity for four 10-hour workdays (4x10s). The clinic sees an average of 18 patients per day, offering a balanced caseload that includes new patients, follow-ups, and acute visits to ensure varied and engaging clinical practice.
As an NP in this primary care role, you will be entrusted with comprehensive patient assessment and management responsibilities. You will perform thorough physical exams, gather medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Your scope of practice includes prescribing medications, performing approved clinical procedures such as Pap smears, and counseling patients on illness management, health promotion, and medication regimens. The role involves active interdisciplinary collaboration through the Enhanced Care Team (ECT) model, working closely with dedicated Medical Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Registered Nurses (RN), Social Workers, and front desk support staff. This support structure promotes a team-based approach to patient care, ensuring holistic management of patient health.
You will be engaged in an enriching clinical environment that encourages continuous professional growth. New graduates are welcome and supported with a structured onboarding and transition program lasting 12 to 18 months, providing mentorship from supervising physicians and APP leadership. Experienced Advanced Practice Providers also have access to professional development opportunities through programs and quality review processes designed to enhance clinical skills and career advancement. Additionally, moonlighting opportunities within the health system are available for those interested in expanding their clinical experience and earning potential.
This position is ideal for healthcare professionals passionate about primary care, population health management, and contributing meaningfully to community health outcomes. Baylor Scott & White Health fosters a culture of belonging where every individual feels welcomed, valued, and supported, reflecting its commitment to diversity and inclusion. By joining this healthcare system, you become part of a respected organization that is invested in your success and well-being. Comprehensive benefits including immediate eligibility for health and welfare plans, a 401(k) plan with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 5%, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off from day one further add to the attractiveness of this opportunity. The Nurse Practitioner role at Baylor Scott & White combines clinical excellence, professional support, and a positive work-life balance to create a fulfilling career path in primary care.
