Job Description

This prominent healthcare establishment is a leading Ambulatory Surgery Center located in the Bay Area, California. Renowned for its patient-centered approach and commitment to inclusive, high-quality surgical care, this center has become a trusted destination for outpatient procedures, specifically geared toward gender-affirming surgeries and diverse patient populations. The organization emphasizes strong clinical quality, maintaining low infection rates alongside excellent patient satisfaction metrics. With modern operating room technologies and a multidisciplinary team driven by compassion and mutual respect, the surgery center fosters a vibrant, mission-driven culture dedicated to making a measurable difference in perioperative patient outcomes.

The Nurse Manager Surgery Center role is a pivotal leadership position designed for an experienced nursing professional passionate about perioperative care and operational excellence. This person will oversee all aspects of perioperative services at the center, managing a high-performing team of six full-time employees, including nurses, surgical technologists, and anesthesia professionals, across two operating rooms. Reporting directly to an experienced Surgery Center Administrator and collaborating closely with the Medical Director, the Nurse Manager will lead initiatives that ensure smooth patient flow from preoperative stages through post-anesthesia care, uphold stringent quality and safety standards, and maintain accreditation readiness aligned with CMS, AAAHC, or Joint Commission guidelines.

Critical responsibilities include staff scheduling, professional development, infection prevention protocols, supply chain oversight, and continuous performance improvement efforts. The center values emotionally intelligent leadership that supports ongoing education and fosters an inclusive environment where patients' diverse identities are respected with sensitivity and advocacy at each step of the surgical journey. This role also plays an integral part in guiding patients through complex coordinated care processes like insurance navigation and travel support, further breaking down barriers to equitable healthcare access.

Located in one of the most vibrant and scenic regions in California, this opportunity offers a compelling lifestyle balance with access to waterfront trails, majestic redwood forests, beaches, and a rich cultural scene encompassing world-class dining, arts, and entertainment. The Bay Area community offers diverse, inclusive neighborhoods, excellent educational institutions, progressive healthcare services, efficient public transportation, and a thriving economy propelled by innovation and technological advancement. The Nurse Manager Surgery Center will benefit from a competitive salary package inclusive of incentive potential, comprehensive health benefits, and generous paid time off, as well as certification and tuition support, empowering their growth as a clinical leader and healthcare visionary. This role represents an exciting chance to lead perioperative services in a progressive, patient-focused environment while enjoying an exceptional quality of life.
