The position of Nurse Manager at Community Health Center of New Britain plays a critical leadership role within the clinical team. Working at the top of their licensure, the Nurse Manager is responsible for enhancing the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of patient care. This is achieved through performing professional nursing responsibilities as well as delegating technical and clerical tasks to medical assistants and staff nurses appropriately. The Nurse Manager also provides training, supervision, and task assignment to ensure the clinical team functions effectively and meets regulatory requirements. Collaboration is key in this role, with close work alongside the Operations Manager, On-Site Medical Director, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and Regional Nurse Manager to achieve organizational goals, develop policies, and uphold clinical standards.

This full-time role based in New Britain, Connecticut, requires occasional evening and Saturday hours depending on site needs and involves travel to other Community Health Center locations as necessary. The Nurse Manager supports patient care by promoting complex care management, leading nurse-led visits, and actively participating in primary care delivery under a planned care model. Administrative duties include managing budgets, coordinating quality improvement projects, supervising the performance and development of medical assistants and nurses, and ensuring compliance with state licensure and Joint Commission accreditation standards. The Nurse Manager also contributes as a Nurse Planner for the center's ANCC accredited continuing nursing education provider unit, ensuring education programs meet accreditation criteria and that conflicts of interest are managed appropriately.

In addition to leadership and clinical expertise, the Nurse Manager is expected to actively participate in community health awareness programs, assist with patient education, and manage emotional or challenging situations professionally. Given the comprehensive scope of this role, candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, as well as proficiency in basic computer applications. The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), current CT Nursing license, relevant ambulatory care nursing experience, and prior healthcare management exposure.
