The role of Nurse Manager I at Prisma Health involves full 24-hour management responsibility for specific patient care units, services, or programs as designated by senior leadership, including the Chief Nursing Officer or Director of Patient Care Services. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- three years RN experience including two years in appropriate nursing area
- nursing management or supervisory experience preferred
- hold current RN compact or multistate license or RN license in state of work
- ability and commitment to coaching and developing staff
- effective communication and leadership skills
- must meet legal age to practice nursing
- compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- three years RN experience including two years in appropriate nursing area
- nursing management or supervisory experience preferred
- current RN compact or multistate license recognized by NCSBN or state RN license
- certification in nursing specialty preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate the delivery of patient care for assigned unit services and ensure quality of patient care provided
- develop, analyze, monitor and revise staffing patterns for units
- perform human resource management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, coaching, performance planning, competency assessment and termination of staff
- plan, develop and monitor annual capital, operational and personnel budgets
- coach, direct, support and evaluate educational and research activities for assigned staff
- develop quality indicators specific to the patient population and monitor quality of care using benchmarks
- ensure availability of age-appropriate supplies and equipment and staff education to meet needs
- identify, plan, implement and evaluate various long-term and short-term projects
- prepare, implement and evaluate unit goals and objectives
- develop, implement, monitor and evaluate personal performance objectives including KRAs
- perform other duties as assigned
