The position available at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center is for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, an essential role within the nuclear medicine department tasked with performing imaging procedures that contribute to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This position is offered as a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive pay range of $37.40 to $55.63 per hour. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for a variety of imaging techniques including planar, planar whole body, gated planar, SPECT, SPECT-CT, gated SPECT, and mobile studies. The role requires interaction with patients, hospital staff, and guests in a manner that ensures high-quality patient care and compassion.

In addition to performing nuclear medicine procedures, the technologist will manage the ordering, preparation, reception, and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals, strictly adhering to regulatory and quality control protocols. Responsibilities include administering intravenous and oral radiopharmaceuticals under the established guidelines, conducting quality control on all departmental instrumentation, and reporting any irregularities to the appropriate supervisory or safety personnel. This position also involves participating in clinical education programs, training staff, students, and house personnel, and contributing to ongoing in-service educational sessions.

The technologist must demonstrate strong computer and paperwork skills to complete all related documentation accurately and promptly in electronic formats. Other duties include setting up and performing EKG tests during pharmaceutical stress and exercise testing, handling on-call activities, assisting with clerical duties to facilitate study completion and scheduling, and upholding rigorous safety standards in the handling, monitoring, and disposal of radioactive materials.
