Job Description
Cecilia is a beautiful breakfast restaurant renowned for serving delicious morning meals alongside captivating cocktails from the bar. Known for its genuine hospitality and warm, comfortable dining experiences, Cecilia stands as a beacon of quality and customer satisfaction within the NW Hospitality Group's portfolio. The restaurant places a strong emphasis on creating a welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels valued and appreciated from the moment they step through the door. This commitment to excellence in service and quality has earned Cecilia a devoted customer base as well as a reputation for exceptional dining experiences. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment that encourages growth and development among its team members. Situated within the expanding NW Hospitality Group, Cecilia provides ample opportunities for career advancement within the hospitality industry, particularly for those who demonstrate passion, dedication, and professionalism.
The role of Host at Cecilia is pivotal to maintaining the high standards that define the restaurant's reputation. As the first point of contact for guests, the Host is responsible for ensuring a warm and professional environment, setting the tone for the front of house. This position involves managing reservations, waitlists, and phone lines with courtesy and efficiency while ensuring each guest feels honored and welcomed. Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as maintaining utmost grooming and wardrobe presentation is essential for the first impression that establishes the standard of the front of house. The Host also ensures that the restaurant’s ambiance is perfectly tuned, monitoring lighting, music, curtains/shades, flowers, and candles, contributing to the overall guest experience.
Further duties include walking through the dining room prior to service to ensure mise en place is complete, opening the front door for guests whenever possible, and answering phones with proper etiquette. The Host is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including daily specials such as risottos and draft cocktails, and be capable of answering guest inquiries with confidence. They also manage to-go and online orders, ensuring accuracy from start to finish, from ringing orders in the POS system to collection of payment and proper packaging. The Host remembers and tracks the names of returning guests through the reservation software, assesses the flow of service, manages the waitlist, and ensures guests receive prompt and accurate service. Acting as the communication hub of the restaurant, the Host relays messages between servers, bus persons, and management.
Additional responsibilities involve assisting servers with orders, food delivery, and clearing tables when required. The Host collects guest feedback upon departure to relay to management and attends to the cleanliness and stocking of restroom facilities during shifts. This position offers both part-time and full-time employment with flexible schedules and includes healthcare benefits such as dental and vision for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week. Notably, the restaurant closes on major holidays including the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. With a starting compensation of $17.13 per hour, this is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to join a dynamic, expanding hospitality company that values genuine service and career growth. No previous restaurant experience is necessary, but clear and effective communication in the predominant guest language(s) is required. Cecilia is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity in its workforce.
