This job opportunity is for a Full Time Waiter/Waitress position located at Miami Jewish Health in Miami, Florida. The role is integral to the daily dining operations and requires a passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare dining setting. The ideal candidate will have food service experience, with serving experience preferred, and healthcare industry experience is considered a valuable asset. As a Full Time Waiter/Waitress at Morrison Living, you will be the face of the dining experience, greeting guests warmly and providing efficient and courteous service. You will take food and beverage orders, deliver items promptly while adhering to safe food handling and sanitation standards, and possess a thorough understanding of menu items to assist guests with their selections. Your role will require direct communication with kitchen staff to ensure orders meet guests' requirements and preferences, including accommodations for special diets and allergens. The position demands strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and patience, as well as the ability to manage cash handling and maintain a clean and safe dining environment.

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and remain flexible and patient with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is properly set up and kept clean before, during, and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
