Job Description

The hiring establishment is a specialized technology company operating in the advanced materials and electronic components industries, with a focus on optical materials, photonics, and audio sensing technologies. This company is known for manufacturing high-quality optical adhesives, high-refractive-index resins, optical connector-related products, and an innovative Intelligent Microphone (i-Mic) product line. The company's expertise lies in combining cutting-edge technology with industry-specific solutions to meet the evolving demands of North American customers. The organization operates with a global perspective, maintaining close collaboration with its Japan headquarters while delivering tailored sales and technical support within the North American market. This role is based in Sunnyvale, California, a hub for technology innovation, which offers candidates hybrid and full work-from-home arrangements depending on business needs. The position includes a competitive base salary commensurate with experience and benefits such as performance-based bonuses, comprehensive health coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, and a generous paid time off policy.

The Sales Representative, North America, is a crucial role designed as an individual contributor position that demands autonomy, self-motivation, and effective cross-cultural collaboration. The primary responsibility is the development of new customers and the management of existing accounts within the North American territory, focusing on one of the company’s core product domains: optical-related products or Intelligent Microphone (i-Mic) technology. In this capacity, the Sales Representative must identify new business opportunities, cultivate lasting customer relationships, and deliver both commercial and technical product support. This requires an understanding of either optical materials and photonics or audio and sensing device technologies, depending on the assigned product area. Key functions also include preparing quotations, negotiating pricing, supporting contracts, attending industry trade shows and exhibitions, and providing market feedback to the Japan headquarters.

The position requires travel within North America for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events, enhancing the sales pipeline and brand presence. Candidates need to be proactive sales professionals who can work independently and effectively, representing the company's interests while aligning closely with strategic goals communicated by the Japan headquarters. The hiring process considers multiple hires focusing on specific product lines to ensure specialized attention to each market segment. The role operates within standard North American employment conditions, including a probationary period to integrate effectively into the company culture. The Sales Representative position offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to join a technologically innovative firm with a strong presence in optical and audio sensing markets, backed by comprehensive benefits and a flexible working environment.
