Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- no experience required
- ability to perform moderate physical effort
- ability to move furniture and use hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment
- availability for early morning shifts starting at 5:00 am
- ability to obtain food handling certification
- may require a valid state driver’s license
- must complete safety and security training
- willingness to obtain housekeeping certification within 6 months
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to maintain guest privacy and security
- ability to perform minor maintenance and report major repairs

Job Duties
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher
- empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture
- washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls and lavatories
- washes and replaces window treatments
- cleans ceiling fixtures
- changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves furniture to clean under and behind
- uses step stool to clean windows, window treatments, cabinet tops, mirrors, and picture frames
- cleans bathroom and kitchen areas including stoves, ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, cabinets, and floors
- washes and disinfects dishes, utensils, and cookware
- cleans iron and ironing board and replaces cover as necessary
- ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and availability of hangers in closets
- ensures TVs are clean and properly programmed with correct channel and volume
- places proper number of amenities in rooms
- removes and replaces bed linen
- inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
- moves and repositions beds upon guest checkout or at guest's request
- greets and welcomes guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
- ensures privacy and security of guests
- cleans, vacuums, and mops corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios, and balconies
- shampoos rugs, carpets, and polishes rails of stairways regularly
- performs deep cleaning as required including carpet cleaning and spot treatment
- maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
- communicates the status of cleaned rooms to supervisor
- accomplishes minor repairs and maintenance of equipment
- cleans and inspects exterior spaces such as parking lots and outside passageways
- may load and unload trucks and assist with receipt of supplies
- responsible for pass key and other keys as assigned
- reports unusual circumstances to supervisor
- reports lost and found items
- sets up and breaks down self-service breakfast bar
- assists with preparing, heating, displaying, and replenishing breakfast items
- completes required safety and security training
- maintains a clean and safe environment
- applies knowledge of safety measures related to contaminated linens and personal care items
- performs laundry operations
- may require a valid state driver’s license
- may need to obtain housekeeping certification
- performs other related duties as assigned
