Job Description
US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, known for its expansive product offerings and commitment to customer satisfaction. As one of the top companies in the foodservice industry, US Foods supports a wide range of clients, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, hospitality venues, and other foodservice providers. The company emphasizes a strong safety culture, excellent local leadership, and a comprehensive benefits package beginning on day one. US Foods stands out for fostering a positive work environment where employees can build meaningful careers and grow professionally within a dynamic industry.
The role of Non-CDL Van Delivery Driver at US Foods is designed for individuals seeking a challenging and rewarding position transporting foodservice products directly to customers. This position operates on a Monday through Saturday schedule with two days off; however, Saturdays are required working days. The compensation for this role is competitive, with hourly pay starting at $25.50, which may vary based on experience, skills, and location. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to overtime compensation and a variety of benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance, and more.
The primary responsibility for the Non-CDL Van Delivery Driver is to ensure timely and accurate delivery of foodservice products across multiple stops. This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle, safely handling heavy items sometimes weighing up to 100 pounds, and using equipment such as hand trucks to maneuver goods into customer locations. Drivers must maintain precise documentation of deliveries, use company-issued scanners, and handle returns appropriately. They are expected to interact professionally with customers and internal teams, report delivery issues, and follow designated delivery routes strictly.
This role also requires adherence to safety standards, including pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, routine monitoring of vehicle refrigeration systems, and compliance with safe food handling procedures. Physical demands are substantial, requiring frequent lifting, walking, standing, climbing, bending, twisting, and ability to work in outdoor conditions regardless of weather. The position demands a high level of responsibility, work ethic, and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of customers while building strong customer loyalty.
US Foods seeks candidates who possess excellent communication skills, driving competencies including defensive driving techniques, and familiarity with local geography and map reading. The company favors candidates with previous multi-stop delivery experience, especially within the foodservice industry, but no commercial driving experience is necessary. Applicants must meet specific legal and safety criteria including holding a valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record, passing DOT physicals, and the ability to pass background checks. This ensures both driver and customer safety while maintaining company standards.
Overall, the Non-CDL Van Delivery Driver position at US Foods offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to join a stable and respected organization within the foodservice sector. The role promotes professional growth, teamwork, and comprehensive employee support while emphasizing customer service excellence and operational efficiency. Potential candidates should be prepared for a physically active role that combines driving, delivery, customer interaction, and safety compliance on a daily basis. Joining US Foods means becoming part of a team dedicated to delivering quality products and services that support foodservice providers nationwide.
