Job Description
Hub Group Final Mile is a reputable logistics service provider specializing in last-mile delivery solutions across the United States. As part of the larger Hub Group, Inc., which has been a trusted partner in transportation and logistics for decades, Hub Group Final Mile focuses on efficient and reliable local delivery services tailored for a variety of industries and client needs. They pride themselves on connecting shipments to their final destinations with exceptional care, timeliness, and professionalism. Their commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction has positioned them as a leader in the final mile delivery sector, especially for appliance delivery and installation services.
This role is specifically designed for Non-CDL Independent Contractors who own, rent, or lease a 16-foot or 26-foot box truck equipped with a liftgate. Contractors will ideally provide their own driver helper, thereby forming a two-person team responsible for the safe delivery and installation of household appliances such as refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other major appliances. This is a local delivery position with home daily benefits, enabling contractors to maintain a comfortable work-life balance while benefiting from competitive pay, with earnings grossing up to $6,500 per week per truck, depending on location. Payments are made weekly via direct deposit with easy access to online settlements, ensuring prompt and transparent compensation.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurial drivers who seek independence while partnering with a nationally recognized logistics company. Contractors must hold a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record. Additionally, active MC Operating Authority and DOT number registrations with FMCSA are required or must be obtained to comply with federal regulations. The nature of the work demands a professional approach to appliance installation requiring either prior experience as an appliance installer or a willingness to learn the trade on the job. Contractors must be equipped with a personal set of tools capable of assembling, adjusting, and installing appliances accurately as per manufacturers' instructions.
Key responsibilities include ensuring timely and precise delivery, utilizing appropriate tools for installation, comprehending and executing complex installation instructions, maneuvering heavy appliances safely with the help of a team member and proper equipment, and maintaining effective team coordination. This position is ideal for motivated individuals or teams who are customer-service oriented and dedicated to upholding the high standards of Hub Group Final Mile. As an independent contractor, participants in this role benefit from the autonomy of running their own business while leveraging the extensive network and support of an established logistics company.
Hub Group Final Mile strongly emphasizes safety, customer satisfaction, and reliability in every delivery and installation task. Their structure supports contractors with weekly settlements and online resources to streamline job management and payment tracking. Overall, this role offers a blend of entrepreneurial spirit and logistical expertise within the appliance delivery niche, providing a rewarding career path with the potential for substantial earnings and work-life balance.
