Job Description

Hub Group Final Mile is a leading logistics company specializing in the final mile delivery of appliances and goods to residential customers. As a part of the larger Hub Group network, it focuses on providing efficient, reliable, and customer-oriented delivery services. Known for its innovative approach to last-mile logistics, Hub Group Final Mile partners with independent contractors to expand its reach across various regions. With a strong emphasis on safety, professionalism, and timely delivery, the company aims to set high standards within the logistics industry while fostering great working relationships with its contractor teams.

Hub Group Final Mile is currently seeking Non-CDL Independent Contractors to join their team as Driver Helpers paired with a 26-foot Box Truck equipped with a liftgate. This opportunity is ideal for entrepreneurial individuals who own or plan to own their own trucks and want to operate their own delivery business within a structured support system. The role focuses on local appliance delivery and installation, meaning contractors can expect to be home daily while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires both driving skills and technical installation knowledge. The position offers an attractive earning potential with gross weekly earnings up to $4,000 per truck, making it a lucrative independent contractor position for those who meet the requirements.

In this role, contractor teams comprising a driver and a helper are responsible for the delivery and installation of various home appliances including refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other similar products. The primary goal is to ensure timely and accurate delivery coupled with high-quality installation services following manufacturer specifications. Contractors must be willing to utilize basic tools and display mechanical dexterity to perform installations that often require reading and following complex instructional guides. A professional attitude towards customer service and efficiency is essential for success in this role.

Additionally, contractors must have or obtain an active MC Operating Authority and DOT number as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and maintain a clean driving record. Owning or leasing a 26-foot box truck with a liftgate, alongside providing a dedicated driver helper, is mandatory. This setup allows teams to maneuver heavy appliances safely and efficiently during delivery and installation. Hub Group Final Mile supports its contractors through weekly settlements paid via direct deposit and online access to settlements for easy financial management. These features, combined with local routes that allow contractors to be home daily, contribute to a better quality of work-life balance.

Overall, the role offers a unique blend of independent ownership with the support of a national logistics leader. It appeals to independent contractors with a background or interest in appliance installation and delivery, providing them with a structured yet flexible business opportunity to thrive locally. If you own a suitable truck, have a valid driver’s license, and are motivated to grow an independent delivery and installation service, Hub Group Final Mile’s Non-CDL Independent Contractor opportunity may be the perfect fit for you.
