Job Description
Hub Group Final Mile is a specialized logistics and transportation company focusing on the final leg of delivery, ensuring that goods reach their destinations reliably and on time. As a respected division under the broader Hub Group umbrella, known for its commitment to innovation and customer service, Hub Group Final Mile emphasizes efficiency and care in managing last-mile deliveries. The company partners with independent contractors to maintain a flexible and responsive delivery network, primarily serving local delivery markets with a home-daily schedule for drivers. By focusing on home delivery services, Hub Group Final Mile makes a critical impact in the appliance delivery sector, catering to customers who require timely installation and setup of new appliances at their residences. This niche allows contractors to benefit from steady local opportunities that support work-life balance and allow drivers to return home daily.
Hub Group Final Mile is currently seeking Non-CDL Independent Contractors to join as Owner Operator/Independent Service Provider Driving Teams. This role necessitates owning, renting, or leasing a 26-foot box truck equipped with a liftgate, which is essential for the safe and efficient transportation of large household appliances. Ideal candidates will have their own driver helper, making this a team effort geared toward appliance delivery and installation. With a competitive gross weekly earning potential between $3,500 and $3,750 per truck, this opportunity is financially rewarding with paid weekly settlements via direct deposit and access to online settlements for transparency and convenience.
The role focuses primarily on appliance delivery and installation, including but not limited to refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other home appliances. Contractors are expected to perform basic hookups, which require a mix of manual skills and technical knowledge obtained through professional appliance installation experience or a willingness to learn this trade. Delivering with care also demands accurate adherence to manufacturer specifications, ensuring appliances are installed safely and efficiently. The team orientation requires selecting and using the appropriate tools for assembly and installation tasks and the ability to manage appliance maneuvering with specialized equipment or assistance.
This is an independent contracting role requiring an active MC Operating Authority and DOT number with the FMCSA, or a willingness to obtain them, compliant with federal transportation standards. Hub Group Final Mile values professionalism, reliability, and skill development, making them an excellent partner for owner-operators seeking local home daily routes with secure weekly payments and steady work.
Overall, this position offers a unique blend of entrepreneurial independence and operational support from a national logistics provider focused on a vital segment of the delivery market. Prospective contractors who value autonomy, have a strong work ethic, and want to build long-term success in the appliance delivery industry will find this role fulfilling and financially advantageous.
