Job Description

The hiring company is a prominent logistics and distribution firm operating under a cross-dock model, primarily focusing on delivering products efficiently across various customer locations. The company emphasizes a commitment to customer satisfaction, safety standards, and operational efficiency. It leverages a structured transportation department that ensures route optimization, timely delivery, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, especially Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The company operates using a fleet of trucks where drivers play a critical role in maintaining the supply chain's integrity by managing package loading and unloading, verifying deliveries, and addressing customer concerns with professionalism.

This role is for a professional Delivery Driver who will be responsible for running daily delivery routes with frequent stops, loading and unloading packages, and operating the truck safely under various weather and traffic conditions. The position demands a high degree of physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and maneuvering products that weigh between 1-75 pounds, sometimes up to 100 pounds. Drivers are expected to operate in a cross-docking environment where they pick up a loaded truck from nightly deliveries and return empty trucks to the assigned lot following the route's completion. This role also occasionally involves assisting with truck loading and palletizing, adhering to safety protocols, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complying with DOT regulations.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong customer relations skills by handling customer complaints diplomatically, verifying deliveries accurately, and reporting discrepancies promptly. They need to follow established route times efficiently while meeting productivity goals and ensuring the safety of themselves and others by properly managing company equipment and following driver safety rules. The role also requires candidates to be comfortable performing duties in all weather and environmental conditions, sometimes working in confined spaces and engaging in frequent physical bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling activities.

The employment type for this position is typically full-time, with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy dynamic work environments involving both driving and physical labor, possess excellent time management and communication skills, and are committed to delivering exceptional service in logistics and transportation sectors.
