This role is for a dedicated Delivery Driver within the US Foods team, offering an opportunity to build a rewarding career with one of the most respected companies in the foodservice sector. The position involves a full-time schedule, working Monday through Friday, with shifts starting from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. with dispatch lasting until the completion of all deliveries, resulting in 12 to 14-hour shifts. This role offers a competitive hourly pay rate starting at $27.28, with actual compensation varying based on relevant experience, education level, specific skills, job function, geographic location, and other lawful factors.

The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in maintaining the company's commitment to excellent customer service by ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of products to multiple customer locations. Responsibilities include handling products safely, operating company vehicles while following all safety regulations, and effectively communicating any delivery-related issues to the appropriate parties. This role requires physical stamina and adherence to strict safety and food handling standards, including lifting heavy loads, performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and monitoring refrigeration systems to maintain product quality.

The ideal candidate will be at least 21 years old, possess a valid US driver’s license with the required endorsements, and have at least one year of multi-stop delivery experience or equivalent local delivery or foodservice industry experience. Strong communication and math skills are necessary, along with the ability to navigate using maps and knowledge of the delivery areas. Candidates must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam, pre-employment testing including a background check, and demonstrate safe driving behaviors with no significant traffic violations or suspensions. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of working under various weather conditions and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with customers and internal teams.

This role does not involve direct supervision responsibilities but requires collaboration with transportation associates, maintenance personnel, and customer service representatives to ensure seamless delivery operations. The physical demands of the position include frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds, as well as activities such as climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking. The work environment is primarily outdoor-based, which necessitates adaptability and resilience.
