The role of Delivery Driver at Charlie's Produce involves driving company trucks to deliver fresh produce to customers on assigned routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Delivery drivers play an essential role in the smooth operation of the business by assisting in various tasks such as storing incoming produce in the warehouse, returning produce to coolers, fueling trucks and refrigeration units, and performing equipment inspections. They also participate in loading and unloading trailers using a pallet jack or hand truck, breaking down pallets of produce, and occasionally completing product orders. On delivery routes, drivers are responsible for professional customer interactions, collecting signatures and payments, handling returns, and communicating any issues to management. The role requires diligent adherence to paperwork, safety standards, and company policies including the maintenance and operation of dash cams installed in vehicles to enhance security and compliance. Additional responsibilities include occasional warehouse duties and ensuring food safety and quality standards are always met.
