The current opportunity is for a full-time Housekeeper position, offering a starting pay of $18.40 per hour. This role involves performing the full range of housekeeping services across the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites or Navy Lodge properties, encompassing guest rooms, public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, exterior spaces, and more. The Housekeeper will be responsible for cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, and polishing, as well as moving furniture and handling removal of trash. Use of hand and powered cleaning equipment to perform these duties is a daily expectation.

Housekeepers in this role play an essential part in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the lodging environment, ensuring guests have a pleasant stay through impeccable room preparation and attention to detail. Beyond routine cleaning, the position involves deep cleaning tasks for pet-friendly rooms and those with ADA service animals, as well as upkeep of kitchen areas, disinfecting dishes and cookware, and managing amenities in guest rooms. Emphasis is placed on guest relations, requiring the Housekeeper to greet guests warmly, maintain guest privacy and security, and communicate room status effectively to supervisors.

Additional responsibilities include minor equipment maintenance, inspection and cleaning of exterior spaces, assisting with supply receipt and merchandise storage, and ensuring key control protocols are followed. The role may require travel to other lodging facilities within the scope of duties and obtaining certifications related to food handling and NHG housekeeping within the first six months of employment. Moderate physical effort is required, including moving furniture and operating lightweight powered equipment.
