Job Description
This position is based within a professional building environment where cleanliness and maintenance are critical to providing a safe and pleasant workplace for all employees and visitors. The employer values diligence, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards throughout their facilities. The building operates with scheduled shifts starting Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m., offering consistent work hours with competitive hourly compensation starting at $13 per hour. This enables employees to have a routine schedule conducive to work-life balance.
The role of Cleaner is essential in ensuring all areas of the building are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained on a daily basis. The Cleaner reports directly to the Building Supervisor, with duties varying based on the size of the facility and the number of cleaning staff. The position requires a flexible and hardworking individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of hygiene and safety in shared spaces. Responsibilities include the cleaning of restrooms, office spaces, break rooms, and floor care using various equipment like mops, vacuums, and cleaning solutions. It also entails detailed tasks such as polishing metalwork, restocking supplies, dusting furniture and equipment, emptying trash, and spot cleaning walls and windows.
Cleaners must be physically capable of performing repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Safety compliance is critical, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to established protocols. Prior cleaning experience is preferred but employees receive guidance and support to meet the high standards required. Moreover, exceptional customer service skills are important since Cleaners interact indirectly with both internal and external stakeholders ensuring their environment remains inviting and well-kept.
This role provides an opportunity for steady hourly employment in a structured setting with the backing of a responsive supervisory team. The Cleaner will grow their skills in facility maintenance and have the chance to contribute to a team-oriented work culture that values reliability, professionalism, and efficiency. Moreover, maintaining cleanliness directly impacts the health and productivity of everyone using the building, making this role a vital part of daily operations. Employees are expected to be punctual, flexible with overtime needs, and committed to performing their duties thoroughly and reliably throughout their employment.
