With a vast network of distribution centers and a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, US Foods plays a crucial role in the food industry by delivering an extensive range of products, including fresh, frozen, and dry foods, along with kitchen equipment and supplies. The company emphasizes a culture centered around its people, safety, service, and cost efficiency, making it a preferred employer and partner in the foodservice sector. US Foods fosters an inclusive work environment where associate engagement, professional development, and safety are prioritized. The organization is committed to maintaining best-in-class service and operational excellence by leveraging experienced management and a motivated workforce.
The role of Manager, Warehouse at US Foods is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality in the logistics of food distribution. This full-time management position offers compensation ranging from $60,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. The Manager, Warehouse will lead a team of warehouse associates, prioritizing a safety-first mindset while championing training and adherence to regulatory standards such as OSHA and HACCP. The manager will be actively engaged in coaching, performance management, and workforce development, fostering a cohesive culture aligned with US Foods’ values. Operational responsibilities include supervising the receiving, storage, order selection, and loading processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. The role also involves direct collaboration with senior warehouse managers and other departments to address performance gaps, inventory shrink, and cost control measures.
This position requires a hands-on leader who can maintain warehouse safety protocols, oversee sanitation requirements, and manage physical warehouse conditions and equipment. The Manager will also play a key role in workforce planning, including scheduling shifts and participating in hiring processes, to build high-performing teams that meet productivity and safety targets. Working conditions include a typical warehouse environment, including cooler and freezer areas with temperatures as low as -5 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a requirement for some travel—up to 10%—primarily for training and meetings. The role demands the ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Overall, this leadership role is integral to ensuring US Foods continues to provide superior foodservice distribution with a focus on people, safety, service, and cost effectiveness.
