The CDL-A Driver position at Core-Mark involves playing an essential role in the country's food supply chain. Drivers are crucial in ensuring that food and food-service products arrive safely, on time, and in excellent condition to customers. Beyond the transportation duties, drivers are the company's representatives in the field, responsible for maintaining positive customer relationships and upholding company reputation. This hourly role comes with competitive pay at $27.50 per hour, a $10,000 sign-on bonus for drivers with 6-12 months of CDL-A experience, and the opportunity for new graduates to apply with provided training. The position requires overnight work and carries the responsibility of operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and drive-and-drop deliveries.

The driver is responsible for following strict Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, performing pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring the freight is properly loaded and secured, and conducting accurate paperwork management. The role includes communicating professionally with customers, co-workers, and vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues. Tasks also involve unloading products, checking delivery items for damage, handling returns, and completing daily logs and safety records to comply with federal and state regulations. Drivers are expected to adhere to excellent housekeeping standards, secure equipment at the end of shifts, and take part in other duties as assigned to support company operations. This role demands physical ability to hand-lift and utilize material-handling equipment for loading and unloading product cases ranging in weight from 10 to approximately 90 pounds depending on the route location. Core-Mark fosters a rewarding workplace with benefits like health and wellness programs from day one, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, making it an excellent opportunity for motivated CDL-A drivers looking to build a solid career in logistics and distribution.
