Job Description

The establishment offering this opportunity is a prominent hotel situated near Mount Rainier, an iconic and breathtaking destination in Washington State. Renowned for its pristine mountain meadows, majestic waterfalls, peaceful old-growth forests, and year-round accessibility, this hotel provides a unique and enriching work environment that attracts a diverse clientele from around the globe. Both guests and employees benefit from the stunning natural surroundings, with the primary season for hospitality activity spanning from April through October. This is complemented by a vibrant, supportive work culture that emphasizes employee growth and guest satisfaction alike. The hotel integrates essential hospitality services with a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere throughout its property.

This role is for an overnight hotel attendant who plays a vital part in the guest experience by ensuring that public areas and grounds remain immaculate and secure during the overnight shift, typically from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. The individual in this position performs multifaceted duties ranging from carrying guests' baggage and assisting the front desk during unstaffed hours to cleaning, maintaining hotel floors, replenishing supplies, and supporting security operations. Reporting directly to the Front Desk Manager, the overnight attendant contributes significantly to the smooth operation of hotel services when daytime staff are not present.

Compensation for this role is set at $18.80 per hour, reflecting the importance of the overnight shift responsibilities and required skills. Benefits include sick pay compliant with Washington State’s sick leave law, employee discounts, access to a recreation program, an employee assistance program, and optional housing and meal plans, providing a supportive environment for employees both on and off the clock.

The hotel attendant position requires strong attention to sanitation and maintenance standards, physical stamina to handle substantial lifting and extended periods of standing, plus the ability to work independently using checklists and follow instructions meticulously. Clarity of communication in English is essential for interacting effectively with guests and coworkers. The role also involves operating custodial and special cleaning equipment such as floor buffing machines, ensuring all tasks uphold the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort.

Working overnight in such a dynamic setting offers associates rewarding personal and professional development opportunities, interacting daily with an international clientele and enjoying the natural beauty surrounding Mount Rainier. The hotel prides itself on creating an inclusive, engaging, and pleasant work atmosphere, which is perfectly suited for those who appreciate both high-quality hospitality service and an outdoor lifestyle. This position is ideal for individuals who are reliable, proactive, and passionate about making a positive contribution to guest experiences during the quieter nighttime hours when safety, cleanliness, and readiness for the next day are paramount.
