Performance Foodservice (PFG) is a leading broadline distributor specializing in delivering high-quality food products to a diverse group of customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. With a dynamic team comprising sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry experts, Performance Foodservice builds close relationships with its customers. This approach enables them to provide tailored advice on enhancing operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The company is committed not only to delivering delicious food but also to supporting independent restaurant owners in achieving their business goals and dreams. Performance Foodservice fosters a culture of inclusivity, respect, and safety, offering equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or other protected characteristics.

The Hostler role at Performance Foodservice is a vital part of the company’s operational framework. This position focuses primarily on moving tractor trailers on Operating Company property, including loading docks, parking areas, and transportation to offsite maintenance or inspection centers. The work schedule for this role is Sunday through Wednesday from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM, with the shift typically concluding once all assigned tasks are completed. The Hostler ensures the seamless flow of trailers between the trailer yard and the main warehouse, which directly supports the company’s daily operations in food distribution. This role demands adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times.

In this position, the Hostler performs inspections of trailers, moves loaded and empty trailers safely and efficiently, fuels and parks tractors and trailers as needed, transports trailers to maintenance facilities, secures equipment adequately, completes required documentation, and supports team members by performing additional duties as assigned. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on work in a fast-paced environment crucial to the food supply chain, contributing significantly to America's food distribution system. Performance Foodservice also emphasizes growth opportunities, safe work environments, and a culture that rewards and recognizes employees’ efforts.

The company offers competitive pay and an attractive benefits package including Day 1 health and wellness benefits, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, a 401K with employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and many other perks.
